GENERAL DATA
The Hotel in SKOLKOVO Moscow School of Management is a part of a huge 80 000 sq m campus situated in the village Skolkovo near Moscow.
The main idea of the school founders was to create a flexible space that would show both the school’s innovative and progressive nature, as it’s roots coming from the ideas of Russian avant-garde of the beginning of the 20th century. The compositional and stylistic design of the Hotel interior is a logical continuation of the entire architectural appearance of the Complex.
Completed in 2009-2010 the Hotel comprises of 126 comfortable rooms that permanently accommodate students on the Campus. The hotel rooms range in categories and sizes There are 4 rooms with double bed, 119 rooms with single bed, 2 rooms for people with disabilities and 1 deluxe room.
The typical hotel room of the School is designed as a modern volumetric interpretation of Kazimir Malevich works. Internal space of the room turns into suprematic composition, where part of the interior (a wall, a shelf, a wardrobe, a door etc.) turns into a compositional element. The interiors solutions overall are made with basic geometric forms and in limited range of colors to correspond with the ideas of suprematism. With that innovative approach the designers have achieved a pure synthesis of functionality and overall concept.
The main goal of the lounge zone interior design is creation of a quiet, comfortable environment that encourages interaction and communication. Grey color of the walls and the floor, specific twilights along with unusually upholstered furniture correspond to the general futuristic image of the hotel.
